Carlos Santana ist einer der wenigen Musiker, der seit den 1960ern über fünf Jahrzehnte hinweg zahlreiche Hits zu verzeichnen hat. In seiner Musik findet man Bestandteile von Latin, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Funk und anderen Einflüssen. Es ist eine „magische“ Idee mit Carlos im Zentrum, die bis heute weltweit Generationen von Fans berauscht und verzaubert.

Alles begann mit einer gemeinsamen Vision – jener Vision, den musikalischen Spirit, mit dem Carlos Santana seit Woodstock das Publikum in seinen Bann zieht, weiterzugeben. Eine große Bandbreite in der Auswahl von Lieblingssongs begeistert die Zuhörer und nimmt sie mit auf eine musikalische Reise durch das Werk dieses Ausnahme-Künstlers.
Die neun Musiker von The MAGIC of SANTANA aus Hamburg bringen das weltberühmte Santana-Feeling absolut authentisch auf die Bühne. Nicht umsonst tourt die Band regelmäßig mit Special Guests, die zum erlesenen Kreis der original SANTANA-Bandmitglieder gehören, z.B. dem Sänger Alex Ligertwood. Allein das ist ein Vertrauensbeweis für die Qualität der Band. Natürlich wird auch der SANTANA-typische einzigartige Sound mit Liebe zum Detail und zu den Original-Instrumenten authentisch wiedergegeben. Der unverkennbare Gitarrenton von Carlos wird bei The MAGIC of SANTANA dem Vorbild entsprechend – und doch mit eigener Note – dargeboten von Gerd Schlüter; eine perfekte Ergänzung zu seinem Gitarrenspiel bildet der Keyboarder Jens Skwirblies, der ebenfalls seit seiner frühsten Jugend von der Musik Santanas geprägt ist.
Pulsierende Percussion ist ein weiteres wesentliches Element des SANTANA-Sounds. Die drei Percussionisten Andreas Rohde (Timbales, Cowbells und Vocals), Jürgen Pfitzinger (Congas und Bongos) sowie Pablo Escayola (Congas, Timbales und Bongos) sorgen dabei für das Santana-typische Latin-Feeling; den Groove erzeugen Drummer Oliver Steinwede und Bassist Martin Hohmeier. Für die Vocals und originalgetreue Spannung ist Gitarrist und Background-Sänger Olli Schröder zuständig.
Darüber hinaus gehören in regelmässigen Abständen aktuelle und ehemalige Musiker von Carlos Santana zur Band: Alex Ligertwood (Vocals & Gitarre, Santana 1979 bis 1994), Richard Baker (Keyboards 1980 bis 1982) und Tony Lindsay (Vocals, Santana 1994 bis 2015); Raul Rekow (Congas, Santana bis 2013).

Carlos Santana is one of the few musicians who had current hits over five decades – in the sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties and present time. You can find elements of latin, rock, blues, jazz, funk and other influences in his music. It is a „magical“ idea with Carlos in the centre, which has intoxicated and enchanted generations of fans around the world.

It all started with a shared vision – the vision to pass on the musical spirit which Carlos Santana has been captivating audiences with since Woodstock. A broad selection of his favourite songs inspires the audience and takes them to a musical journey through the work of this exceptional artist.
Nine musicians, who have teamed up in Hamburg, Germany, present the world famous Santana feeling on stage in an incredibly authentic way. No wonder the band is frequently presenting special guests from the exquisite circle of original members of SANTANA, such as the vocalist Alex Ligertwood. This alone is a sign of confidence in the quality of the band. Of course, the unique SANTANA-sound is presented with love to the detail as well as the original music instruments. Congas, bongos and timbales are – in addition to the distinctive guitar sound Santana – impressively presented. That distinctive guitar sound of Carlos will be authentically, yet with a personal note, performed for The MAGIC of SANTANA by Gerd Schlueter. A perfect complement to his guitar playing is the keyboarder Jens Skwirblies, who likewise has been influenced by the music of Santana since his earliest youth.
Pulsating percussion is another essential element of the SANTANA sound. Three percussionists, Andreas Rohde (timbales, cowbells and vocals), Juergen Pfitzinger (congas and bongos) as well as Pablo Escayola (congas, bongos and vocals) provide the typical latin feel of SANTANA. Oliver Steinwede (drums) and Martin Hohmeier (bass) generate the groove; Olli Schroeder provides guitar and vocals and is responsible for the authentic excitement. SANTANAs versatile music spans a bow from complex melodies in both english and spanish language over powerful rock songs to beautiful ballads.
Also, current and former musicians of Carlos Santana are included in the band at irregular intervals: Alex Ligertwood (vocals & guitar, Santana 1979 to 1994) for all almost every concert in 2016; Tony Lindsay (vocals, Santana 1994 – 2015); Richard Baker (keyboards, Santana 1980-1982); Raul Rekow (Congas, Santana -2013).
